Birthday Time

I believe that the invitation says it all....it's late and surprisingly enough I don't have much else to say - but, I was so excited to share how great this turned out, that I had to at least post here to share with you all.

Reorganizing Cabinets

Well, the other evening it was just Ethan and me at the house.  I was supposed to get some blogging and budgeting and design work done, but of course I got busy doing the dishes instead - or maybe I was supposed to be folding the laundry monster on my couch, anyway. While I was doing dishes Ethan decided that he was going to go through the kitchen cabinets.

'Well', I thought to myself and said to Ethan, 'I was wanting to rearrange the cabinets', so much to his surprise and pleasure I am sure - Mom, got in there with him and starting taking everything out of the cabinet as well ;)

Upcycled Bottles

Okay so as The Pioneer Woman would say here are the Characters for this upcycle project
This is the rest of the characters.....

Okay, so this is just a little craft I did.  I was helping to decorate for a baby shower for one of the many mommy's at our church and I had this Idea to do something with the many glass bottles that I insist on keeping. (they are all recycled bottles, i.e. olive oil, baby food, tabasco sauce, etc.)  So, I decided to print out some letters and put them on the bottles, with a little decoration of course ;).  My good friend Jenny donated the fancy scrapbook paper and ribbon that matched the colors of the shower - the baby is a suprise, and I just love that! Here is how they turned out:
Upcycled Bottles
Everyone at the shower said they were cute - maybe they just wanted to be nice though ;) - any thoughts anyone?

I also refurbished a spice rack to make a sort of center piece.  I just washed out the glass bottles for the spices and put some water in them.  ( or rather Thaddeus washed most of them ) And then Thaddeus, Tristen, and I put some flowers in them.  Now, I am taking the picture like a week later, so imagine nice flowers all looking up okay ;).

The Letter B

This week we are playing with/learning the letter B. Big B, Little b, what begins with b?  We went over some words that started with B - it turns out we know a lot of these:
Blue
Boy
Box
Bubbles
Bucket
Bear
Ball
Boat
                       Bubble Bee
                       Batman
                        Buzz Lightyear
and then we went on a B-hunt! And we put all of our B findings into our letter B bucket.  At boy Thaddeus said 'we need to go in the B bucket ;)'.
The next day we started making a cardboard Box Boat (idea i got from a wonderful mom at pinkandgreenmama. This turned out to be a much longer process than expected, so we finished the boats the next day. I decided to make the boats out of thick cardboard inorder to be more sturdy for my reckless boys, not as good and idea as I thought. And the boys colored a Bb coloring sheet - they also tried writing B's on the coloring sheet.
We have also started learning a B verse song to go along with our B-themed week.  It is:
Believe in the Lord, the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved and thy house. Acts 16:31.
Hopefully tomorrow we get to at least work on our ABC books and add our B page. And maybe we can squeeze in some boo-boo bunnies to make before the week is out.
This Wonderful Board is from our Super Uncle Timmy!

Ozarks

So, we took the boys to Jasper, AR this past weekend (up close to the Buffalo River).  A friend of mine is starting a bed and breakfast and she asked me if I could make her the brochure for it! Yeah!  I am so excited to be able to let loose my graphic skills/ideas on something that is needed for a friend and that so many people will see.  So, all the boys/men came with me on Saturday and we got to play and make s'mores, enjoy wonderful Louisiana style Gumbo, and then we also went down to the buffalo and the let the boys swim/play on Sunday.  We weren't expecting to stay so they were at first swimming in some t-shirts we had gotten for Danny and I to sleep in, eventually though they ended up in just their underwear.  Yes, those were my kids at the Buffalo that their parents couldn't even afford them some swimsuits ;).....very, very Arkansas right!

Aren't my boys just the cutest things ever.... ;)

Okay, so here is my story for today.
Alright, well first you have to know what was going on.  We have been going over the letter A this week and today we worked on a little book that we are putting together of all 26 letters.  We cut out the sign for A, and some pictures of things that start with A ( acorn, alligator, apple, ant)  - ohhh, I need a picture of Aunt Amelia - Anyhow, my boys really like to paint, and I got this idea to do some printmaking  - from www.pinkandgreenmama.blogspot.com - and with an A block and some of their toys that start with A that we had gone on a hunt for earlier in the week. So, we did that and then essentially I had red paint all over the place.  I decided to let the boys play in water in the tub with all the toys that we had gotten paint all over and then they would have a blast playing in water and I would have the toys clean ;). ( I know brillant idea right - props to me)
Well, here is what happened.  I had gone to wipe off the table of all the red paint real quick while they 'played with water'.  And I come back to......Thaddeus and Tristen taking a very red bath ;).  All I could do was laugh!!! ;) I guess they figured 'play in water' = take a bath with toys.

So, then baby Brother wakes up and of course he wants to play in water to - no, no red bath for him, but.....

Baby Brother had sooo, much fun!

And then of course,

Big Brother's thought Baby Brother's play water was more fun and vice versa....

A sample of some of the crafting we've been up to this week

Up and Running

Okay well, it is pretty simple, I now have a blog up and running. I am really excited to hopefully put all kinds of interesting things on here.  This is a spot for me to give updates on our family, tell little funny/sad/interesting stories about our days together, and also for me to post little craft things that I have going on - I am learning a lot of new tricks these days.  So, if I can keep it up, please hop in and enjoy the ride every so often. ;) Here is to me returning later today and post some pics of the boys and sharing what all we did today - I would do it now, but Ethan is currently trying to eat my battery cord and a wii remote ( someone please ask apple if this harms either the baby or the remote/energy ) - Salud!!!
